Meet the Team | Posted on 04/04/2019

Q: How long have you worked at Solar Power Australia?
A: 2 and bit years

Q: What’s the coolest or most interesting thing you have worked on at SPA?
A: The various custom solar-trailers that I’ve been involved with. Designing them from scratch with CAD and then being part of the manufacture and assembly process right through to the final product. I’ve learnt a lot about how to improve and streamline my designs.

Q: What’s the best piece of professional advice you’ve ever received?
A: Your job pays you twice: once with money, and once with allowing you to learn new skills to get a better job. If it’s not paying you twice, it’s time to look for a new job.

Q: What are three items you’d take with you to a deserted island?
A:

1. A book on how to survive on a deserted island
2. Aqautabs
3. A big ‘ol knife

Q: What’s your favourite sports team?
A: Arsenal FC

Q: What did you want to be when you grew up?
A: An inventor

Q: What motivates you?
A: Deadlines ….but also travelling and trying new food

Q: How do you describe what you do for a living to family and friends?
A: An engineer for a solar company: as well as being part of the sales team, I design and model things for our metal fab team to make. Things like trailers, street lights and battery casings.

Q: Who would you most like to switch places with for a day?
A: It would be cool to be a shark or a whale if that counts

Q: What characteristic do you like most about yourself?
A:I work hard to solve a problem efficiently

Q: If you could change something in the world, what would it be?
A:
I’d say we need a bigger drive to develop and implement renewable technology on larger scales rather than being too risk averse to move away from fossil fuels.

Also Mosquitoes……There’s literally no need for them.

Q: How do you wind down after work?
A: Kick a ball or get down to the beach.
