Solar Wind Hybrid System Salt Ash

This 2.4kW battery connected, solar wind hybrid, grid feed power system installed on a house in Salt Ash NSW features a 1.4kW monocrystalline solar array and a Whisper 200 1kW wind turbine on a roof mounted tilt tower. The tower is safely tilted throught the use of a removable counterweight (pictured).

The balance of system components include:

* a Xantrex SW3024E battery connected, grid-feed inverter charger
* a Plasmatronics PL series solar regulator complete with shunt to allow metering of the high DC current from the turbine
* a Trojan deep cycle battery bank to provide back-up in the event of a blackout
