Grid-Feed Solar System with UPS Newport Beach

Twelve (12) BP Solar 175W Solar Laminate Panels were fitted to this Newport Beach house which is entirely covered in copper sheeting. The laminates are mounted on custom stainless steel mounting frames. The standard aluminium solar panel frames were not used as they would have caused an electrolytic reaction with the copper. The panel array output is delivered to a Fronius IG40 5500W grid-feed inverter which exports the green power to the grid.

This project also included the supply and installation of a UPS (Uninteruptable Power Supply) system comprising of six (6) Sonnenschein 2V 960Ah Gel Batteries and an Outback VFX2612E 2600W Pure Sine Wave Inverter Charger. The UPS system provides power to all essential services within the house in the event of a blackout and is activated when the Outback Inverter Charger detects an absence of 240V grid power, sending it into inverting mode in fractions of a second.
